Dover Athletic and Cakeshop Media join forces for social media sponsor

Dover Athletic and Cakeshop Media announce partnership

A massive coup for Cakeshop Media

We’re delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Vanarama National League football team, Dover Athletic. This exciting news sees Cakeshop Media become the official social media partner for the 2021/22 season.

It was difficult to turn down such a unique proposition, which was initially put forward to the club by fan and managing director, Thom Cakebread.

After initially getting in touch with the club to sponsor the home shirt of defender Seth Twumasi, Sponsor Relations Manager and Managing Editor of the Media Team, Richard Harvey discussed the idea of us helping further.

“They are a new brand who will certainly help our cause and help keep everyone updated with everything that’s going on at the club.

“We look forward to working with them across the season,” said Mr. Harvey.

Working on a voluntary basis, with Cakeshop Media receiving no pay for our services, as the club look to battle a £40,000 fine and 12-point deduction from the league.

The penalties come as a result of Dover Athletic choosing to not participate in the remainder of the 2020/21 league and refusing to take out loans.

These financial choices would have negatively affected the future of the club. Something that Cakeshop Media felt very strongly about.

Managing director of Cakeshop Media, Thom Cakebread said,

“It was an easy and exciting decision to take on the opportunity to work alongside my hometown club this season.

“This club needs all the help it can get and we were really happy to offer my services and to get involved.

“I am really looking forward to it.”

As part of the help, we’ll be looking to create social media content on weekly basis as well as helping Mr. Harvey with the match day programme and any other help he needs.
